Seal Advice from SPECSEAL’s Amata Nakorn Branch

Replacing Seals in Hydraulic Cylinders
At a sales meeting at the Amata Nakorn branch, Managing Director Pongsak Jirawatpongsa advised the sales team to check whether customers supplying hydraulic-cylinder seal samples had provided a complete set.
For example, a seal set for a hydraulic cylinder with a 125 mm bore includes a compact seal, a U-cup and a wiper. If a customer provides only the compact seal and U-cup, the salesperson should explain that the cylinder also uses a wiper and recommend replacing the entire set at the same time.
Removing and replacing seals takes time. If some seals are left unchanged, they may fail later and require another shutdown. The resulting downtime and lost production income can exceed the cost of replacing the whole seal set in one repair.
This advice helps customers save time and avoid lost business opportunities.
