Hytrel Back-up Rings

SPECSEAL introduced BRH-xxx back-up rings, where xxx denotes the AS-series O-ring number. These rings are made from Hytrel with a hardness of 55 Shore D, described in the original article as comparable to PTFE (Teflon).

The material withstands temperatures up to 135°C and higher pressure than NBR rubber back-up rings. BRH-xxx rings fit the same grooves as Series 8 back-up rings and are used with AS-series (American Series) O-rings. They are intended for applications requiring resistance to high pressure and elevated temperatures.
