Preventing Pressure Damage to Extend O-Ring Life

The following measures help prevent or correct pressure-related O-ring damage and extend service life:

• Reduce the clearance between components.
• Use a back-up ring.
• Use an O-ring with a higher hardness.
• Check that the O-ring material is suitable.
• Remove sharp edges from component corners before installing the O-ring.
• Use an O-ring of the correct size for the components.
