What Is the Difference Between Fluorocarbon Rubber and Viton?

These materials have similar properties. Fluorocarbon, also known as FPM, is the generic material name, whereas Viton is a trade name. At the time of this article, Viton was identified as a DuPont trade name, and products bearing that name had to be manufactured using DuPont material.
